Dynasty Pickleball - Q1 2025 Q&A - Gen 3.5 / Gen 4.5 Foam / Power ?

1.      Are you crazy?  Why would you come in and challenge brands that have been open for 75+ years?  It’s simply too late & you don’t have a chance!  We come from 9 years of semi-conductor manufacturing and we believe we can innovate in this space.  “Carbon fiber layering systems” is in our back alley!

2.      Okay, so why not make a cheap $50 or $100 paddle then?  There’s no risk here.  You can’t advance the space if you’re merely moving a product just to move a product.  We studied what’s already out there and we improved upon them.  Oh, we also added our own flare while doing that, too.

3.      What makes a paddle Gen 3.5?  Gen 3.5 fixes all of the issues that a Gen 3 paddle has.  This includes:  excessive moving core, delamination, and dead spots.  The previous generation also has issues with the glue from securing the layers loosening up.  Gen 3.5 also allows us to put a graphic onto the face without affecting performance.

4.      Why is Power important in pickleball?  Power is a defining aspect of any sport or anything athletic.  We watch sports to be thrilled and to be in awe.  If pickleball wants to contend with a major sport like tennis, it has to be entertaining to watch.  The current meta of the sport is too focused on dinking & keeping the ball in play.  Players are simply not taking risks.  I saw a professional match the other day in doubles where the point lasted 2.5 minutes and it was all dinking at the kitchen.  I want to commend the players for their patience but this is not good for TV Sponsorship.  It’s too repetitive when in doubles the only strategy is for both players to shoot towards the kitchen line to volley knowing the other team will employ the same strategy to engage in dinking.  There is no variety here.

5.      What makes a paddle Gen 4.5 then?  We have multiple prototypes of a fully foam-based core paddle and so far they haven’t achieved the level of performance that we anticipated.  The power simply isn’t there.  I would say Gen 4 is more designed for spin & control.  There is a definite improvement in dwell time, but the carbon fiber outside layer also dictates spin—no matter what, this outside layer will eventually get dull.  As for durability, sure the core is less likely to crush but the glue that holds the layers together will eventually break or loosen up with heavy usage.  There is no magic glue that can hold all the layers together forever.

6.      Where is your $100 paddle you promised?  Please be patient.  More information is coming soon.  It will be worth the wait!  We are working on paddle covers & accessories right now.  We plan to include the paddle covers with ALL PADDLE PURCHASES for FREE.

  • Do the graphics on the sweet spot of the paddle effect the spin surface?
No, they do not. Dynasty Brand is the first to utilize a multi-layer carbon fiber system along with an advanced peel ply method that allows multiple surface layers to be joined together into one. Previously, you would have to rely on a painted-on grit or a spray-on grit to have a colorful design at the expense of durability. Contrary to popular belief, ball spin isn't done by scratching the ball, but by the face of the paddle pocketing the ball (dwell time) and releasing it either in the opposite direction or the same direction (via spin continuation). The graphics are merely an illusion as the grit surface is beneath it. We are able to provide a spin surface that isn't just long lasting, but also pleasing and visible to the open eye.
  • Are you designing a 100% Foam Core paddle in 2025?
Dynasty Brand is currently working on Model 5 and we have many prototypes in testing. We are still not convinced that a lower cost material like foam can outperform premium polypropylene + EVA foam shock absorbers. If we take away the thermo-forming process to join the paddle together into once piece we are now also sacrificing stability + sweet spot size. There are many questions to ask still in this "newer" method and we are wondering whether or not this is a step forward or backwards. One can only hope to have the answer soon.
  • What makes Dynasty Brand paddles better than other paddles on the market?
Dynasty Brand pickleball paddles are set at 95% of maximum allowable legal power, and 95% of legal spin via USAP 2025. These figures become 97.5% beginning November 2025, and are legal all the way through 2026. The balance of our paddles are perfect from end to end. In terms of durability, we are the ONLY COMPANY to offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty on ALL of our paddles.
  • Are we able to test the paddle in person before buying?
Yes, Dynasty Brand Labs is located in Santa Fe Springs, CA alongside our main company. For inquiries, please email info@dynastypickle.com . There is also an option for Will Call during Check Out. You can try out each model if you want. Thank you.
  • Are Dynasty Brand paddles USAP approved for tournament play?
Yes, all four current models 1-4 are USAP approved and PBCoR guaranteed past 2026.
  • Will buying a Dynasty Brand paddle improve my game?
Even though there is no guarantee that a paddle can improve someone's skill, we can at least guarantee that our paddles will enhance the type of play you are looking for. The current offerings of Models 1-4 are designed to improve each type of play on the court.
  • Will you make a paddle that's more budget friendly?
Dynasty Brand will have a sub $100 model coming in the near future. This model will be a high performer that may utilize some of our newer technologies. The only reason for the delay is because of USAP's new benchmark guidelines regarding testing methods that may not qualify these newer ideas. We may end up making an exhibition paddle that can only be used outside of tournaments.
